The England FA are currently investigating a betting breach that was committed by West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta according to reports.

The focus of the FA's investigation into Lucas Paqueta's gambling activities is based on the Brazilian receiving a yellow card in three West Ham games, including their season opener.

The West Ham star has been one of the best players for the West London side, helping them win the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

The Brazilian was on the verge of moving to Manchester City but the deal was put off due to the recent reports of a betting breach.

The midfielder is currently under investigation for breaching the FA betting rule according to reports.

According to Mail Sport, a five-month investigation was made public after a bet was placed on Paqueta to be booked at Bournemouth 11 days ago.

According to reports, Paqueta received a booking in each of the three games under investigation by the FA, which is thought to be what ultimately led to the breakdown of an £85 million transfer to Man City.

He is believed to have received his first yellow card, a booking, for a late challenge on John McGinn during a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on March 11.

He was given a second yellow card on May 21 for fouling Cresencio Summerville of Leeds.

Mail Sport also reported that the breakdown of the City transfer was actually because of Paqueta's card at Bournemouth on August 12 for pushing Illia Zabarnyi.

The FA reportedly learned of anti-corruption the following Monday morning from integrity officers, and after doing their own research, they later contacted West Ham and Paqueta.
