Fans have poked fun at the France captain after he posed a question on choices of masks to wear after suffering a bloodied nose.

Kylian Mbappé has given France a significant boost after his injury scare during the Euro 2024 opener against Austria. Despite suffering a broken nose from a collision with defender Kevin Danso, Mbappé indicated he might continue playing in the group stage with a protective mask.

Following his substitution in France’s 1-0 victory, Mbappé was taken to a Düsseldorf hospital.

There were initial concerns that he might require surgery, potentially sidelining him for the remainder of the group stage. However, reports suggest that surgery may not be necessary, allowing him to return to action sooner than expected.

Mbappé humorously addressed his situation on social media, asking for mask suggestions, which elicited a variety of responses, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle images and practical mask ideas like the one worn by Victor Osimhen.

This lighthearted interaction highlighted Mbappé’s optimistic outlook despite the injury.

The French captain will undergo treatment and be fitted with a protective mask to stabilize his nose, a common practice among athletes with similar injuries.

Notable players like Harry Kane and Diego Costa have previously used such masks to continue playing.

France’s coach, Didier Deschamps, acknowledged the importance of Mbappé to the team, emphasizing that while they have other attacking options like Marcus Thuram, Olivier Giroud, Bradley Barcola, and Randal Kolo Muani, none can match the impact of their star player.

Deschamps remains hopeful for a swift recovery but is prepared to adapt if necessary.

Mbappé's determination and the medical team’s swift action have kept his Euro 2024 hopes alive, and fans eagerly await his return to the pitch, even if it means playing through the group stage with a protective mask.
