The Cranes Kabbo was a promotional campaign that was aimed at collecting funds to facilitate the Cranes' dream of reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Football fans have been given the opportunity to decide how the shs. 450 million that Nile Special collected from the ‘Cranes Kabbo’ campaign should be used.

The beer company announced on Wednesday that they had collected the sum from the campaign that started last year in November.

The Cranes Kabbo was a promotional campaign that was aimed at collecting funds to facilitate the Cranes' dream of reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“For a period of one month, during the Cranes Kabbo campaign, for every Nile Special you bought, we gave UGX 50 to the Uganda Cranes Fund; and the total amount collected for the cause was UGX 450 million.” Joel Galla, the Nile Special Brand Manager, revealed.

He added: “This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our special fans, who are also going to have a say in what the money will be used for… A Twitter poll will go live today and fans will vote for their favourite out of the 3 proposed areas of investment.”

Both Nile Special and FUFA have zeroed in on three projects that the fans can choose among.

They include the upgrading of the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, the development of a new Nile Special Training Centre, and the third one is taking coaches for high-level training abroad.
