What happened
Yesterday morning, the 61-year-old was reported to have left Turkey for surgery, which sparked worry and concern among the Fenerbahce fanbase and the football world at large.
Later that day, the former Real Madrid man took to social media to address the concerns. He thanked his well-wishers for their messages but ensured to allay their fears.
He confirmed that he was indeed set to undergo surgery but ensured that the procedure was minor and did not warrant the fuss that had ensued. He also said recovery would not keep him away from resuming training when Turkish football resumes in January.
