Another Arsenal player has pulled up with an injury during the international break.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has received another disappointing news from the transfer window, and his captain Martin Odegaard suffered an injury while playing for Norway.

Odegaard’s injury

The 25-year-old led out Stale Solbakken’s side against Austria for their second UEFA Nation’s League match this international break. Following the disappointing goalless draw against Kazakhstan, the Norwegians were keen on getting a win.

With the game delicately balanced, an incident rocked Solbakken's set-up as he was forced to substitute his captain, Odegaard, in the 67th minute after an ankle injury.

They managed to win the game despite his absence, thanks to an Erling Haaland strike in the 80th minute. Mikel Arteta, however, does not enjoy such respite, as he will likely miss Odegaard for the North London Derby this weekend.

Arsenal missing key players for Tottenham fixture

Arsenal went into the international break off the back of a 1-1 draw against Brighton. They were keen on a return to winning ways in the clash against Tottenham this weekend; however, their list of unavailable players puts a damper on that ambition.

Rice was confirmed to miss the fixture before the break, as he received his marching orders in the Brighton draw, as will new signing Mikel Merino, who is suffering from a shoulder injury.

A few days ago, another new boy, Riccardo Calafiori, seemingly joined that list after hurting himself on duty for Italy. Odegaard is the latest availability headache for Mikel Arteta.
