Lampard will lead the Sky Blues for the first time this Saturday against Cardiff City at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Lampard joins Coventry following the dismissal of Mark Robins, who was sacked after a disappointing start to the season that saw the team win only four out of their first 17 matches.

With Coventry currently sitting in 17th place, 10 points off the playoff positions, Lampard's arrival comes at a crucial time as he aims to steer the club back on course.

In his new role, Lampard will be supported by Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, both of whom he has worked with extensively in previous coaching positions.

This trio is expected to bring fresh energy and tactics to a team that has struggled for consistency this season.

Lampard's managerial journey began in the Championship at Derby County in 2018, where he made an immediate impact by leading the Rams to the Championship Play-Off Final.

Lampard is known for his belief in young academy players.

His success earned him a return to Chelsea as head coach in 2019, where he guided the team to a fourth-place finish and an FA Cup Final appearance.

However, his tenure at Stamford Bridge ended in January 2021 after a series of inconsistent results.

Frank Lampard was sacked by Chelsea before he returned to the club in 2022.

Following a stint with Everton from January 2022 to January 2023, Lampard returned to Chelsea as interim manager for the latter part of the 2022/23 season. Despite his illustrious playing career and significant coaching experience, he has yet to secure a major trophy in management.

With his return to where it all started, Lampard is eager to leverage his extensive knowledge and experience to inspire his players and improve their fortunes in the Championship.

The upcoming match against Cardiff City will serve as an important test for both him and the team as they look to build momentum moving forward.
