Nigeria's Wilfred Ndidi threw praise from his former teammate at Leicester City after putting on a show for the Foxes in the EFL Cup.

Nigeria's Wilfred Ndidi put on a show for Leicester City in their recent EFL Cup victory, and his former teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was quick to heap praise on the midfield maestro.

Ndidi, the Foxes' defensive midfielder, netted a fantastic goal that left his marker in no man's land as Leicester sealed a comfortable 4-0 win.

The strike, which was made in Africa after Ndidi combined effectively with new Ghanaian teammate Jordan Ayew, extended the lead to 3-0.

Leicester shared the video of Ndidi's "ridiculous strike" on their Instagram account, captioning it "Waltzing through."

It was then that Iheanacho, who recently left Leicester for La Liga side Sevilla, jumped into the comments to react.

"You don finally score with this your toe," the new Sevilla forward, who has just earned his first start for the Spanish club, stated.

Ndidi and Iheanacho's strong bond is well-documented, having played together at both club and international level for Nigeria.

Both players have been named in the 23-man squad announced by new Nigeria coach Bruno Labbadia, who has been appointed as the replacement for former coach Finidi George.

The Super Eagles will face Benin on September 7th in Uyo before travelling to Kigali to take on Rwanda on September 10th.

With Ndidi's impressive performance and Iheanacho's enthusiastic reaction, it's clear that the Nigerian duo still share a close friendship, even after Iheanacho's move to Spain.

Super Eagles supporters will be keen to see them link up again on the international stage as Nigeria looks to reinvent itself under the guidance of the new boss, Labbadia whose first task is the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
