NEC head coach Hussein Mbalangu credited the team’s performance to executing their game plan.
“We’re happy we won our second straight game. It wasn’t simple, but we executed our game plan and strategy,” he noted in the post-match presser.
Kavuma credited the team’s performance to working as a unit; “We worked as a whole; the two wins motivate us to keep going."
The home side all but killed off the game in the first half, scoring four goals led by captain Marvin Kavuma, who opened the scoring after just eight minutes.
New signing Rashid Okocha doubled the hosts’ lead in the 28th minute from 12 yards after Allan Mugalu was fouled in the box, but that was just the beginning.
