The deputy FKF president promises they will continue strengthening the development of grassroot football
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has reiterated its commitment to growing grassroots football in the country.
Speaking at Kinunga Stadium in Nyeri during a Division 2 clash between Marafiki and Rware FC, FKF Vice-President Doris Petra said the football governing body would continue enhancing the game's growth.

The FKF vice president revealed that financial constraints are the federation's major undoing.
"We want to develop grassroots football, and we want it to be strong. It is evident that there is ample talent at the grassroots that can be identified," she said.
Petra added that she was impressed by the level of football showcased in the match between the two sides.
"To tell the truth we have been entertained. I have seen very good players and we will continue supporting you," she added.

Marafiki beat Rware 2-1 in a match dubbed Muthoniwa Derby, attended by thousands of fans, including Nyeri Town MP Duncan Maina, who promised to push the government to complete the iconic Ruringu Stadium.
