The move is anticipation for the county elections on November 9, building up to the national polls on December 7.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Electoral Board has published the final list of club delegates, marking a key step towards the December 7 elections.

The fiercely contested election has attracted some key figures with some sports administrators and ex-players battling it out for the federation's top seat.

The release, made on the board’s website on November 3, comes in anticipation of the preliminary county elections scheduled for November 9.

The list of delegates includes representatives from football clubs across Kenya’s 47 counties, spanning all divisions.

This latest announcement follows the Board's earlier release of the final list of presidential aspirants.

Among the key figures running for office is incumbent FKF president Nick Mwendwa, who is on a ticket with aspirant Doris Petra.

Other contenders include prominent names like Sammy 'Kempes' Owino, a former Gor Mahia player and Kenyan international, former FKF CEO Barry Otieno, and Hussein Mohammed, CEO of Extreme Sports.

Cleophas Shimanyula, owner of Kakamega Homeboyz, sports administrator Tom Alila, FKF National Executive Committee member Chris Amimo, and Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla are also in the race.

The competition will be intense, with each candidate bringing unique perspectives and experience.

In a surprising development, former FKF president Sam Nyamweya, who had initially been cleared to run, decided to step down on October 26.

Nyamweya has thrown his support behind Shimanyula, a move that could potentially sway votes in the Homeboyz boss' favor and impact the outcome of the election.
