The FKFPL Golden Boot standings after match week 33 of the FKFPL.
Following the penultimate game of the 2022/2023 FKF Premier League season, the race for the Golden Glove has now been narrowed down to just two candidates who stand a chance at claiming the award with just one game to go.
After it had appeared as if it would go to the last day a month ago, custodians have since failed to keep clean sheets on a regular basis, which has left the award becoming just a two-horse race between as many goalkeepers.
Ahead of the last game of the season, who between Gor Mahia’s Gad Mathews and Nzoia Sugar’s Humphrey Katasi will take home the Golden Glove?
Pulse Sports brings you the clean sheet standings after match week 33 of the FKF Premier League:
17 Clean Sheets
Gad Mathews ( Gor Mahia)
Gad Mathews has had a season to remember as he has kept 17 cleansheets so far this season. He could have wrapped it up had he kept his goal clean in the side's 3-2 loss to Kakamega Homeboyz , as well as helping consolidate K'ogalo's title credidentials this season.
He has the chance however, to win the award and make it 18 should he keep a cleansheet against Nairobi City Stars in their last game of the season on Sunday.
Here is the list of the remaining cleansheet holders in the league this season:
16 Clean Sheets
Humphrey Katasi (Nzoia Sugar FC)
Humphrey Katasi could have caught up with Gad Mathews had he kept a cleansheet against KCB, as the bankers managed to get all three points against Nzoia away.
However, he can still make it 17 if he can keep a clean sheet against Sofapaka this weekend and hope that Gad Mathews conceeds against Nairobi City Stars. This will make it the first time in history, that he has won the award.
