Wekesa has been an integral part of John Kamau’s side as Rangers have taken the FKF Premier League by storm so far this season.

Posta Rangers winger Curtis Wekesa has explained the difference between his new club and Mathare United, the club he signed from during the off-season following their relegation from the FKFPL.

Posta have started the season brightly, and lead the league charts on 16 points after six games. They are also the joint most prolific side alongside Gor Mahia on 10 goals, whilst possessing the meanest defense, conceding just one goal and keeping five clean sheets.

Wekesa has been impressive for the side, playing as a left winger who occupies little pockets of space where he can create chances from under the tutelage of John Kamau, who has been dubbed the ‘Pep Guardiola’ of Kenyan football.

“Workrate, teamwork, and motivation from both the technical bench and the office,” Wekesa told Pulse Sports on the reason behind his impressive form.

Although playing at Mathare United made him a standout player, Wekesa is in awe of Posta’s willingness to emphasise teamwork rather than individual brilliance.

“At Mathare, we were struggling financially and there was no motivation, and all we would do was try and grind out results.

“At Posta, there is teamwork and everyone wants to win, and you have to get into that rhythm and that is what is helping us win.”

“The coach is giving me a platform and because of my hard work, consistency and results,” Wekesa said.

The fleet-footed left winger has revealed his ambitious targets for the season, making the bold claim that he wants to help Posta “win the league”.

“But as of now, I have not hit my target well but the more we continue, I will hit my target and play for the national team.”

“I want to score ten-plus goals and help the team win the league.”
