Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has made a surprising pick for the biggest flop of 2024.
Troy Deeney has labeled Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as the biggest flop of 2024, criticising his attitude and lack of accountability for poor performances.
Rashford has been in the news lately after reports emerged that United were working actively to get him off the books, a situation that prompted the 27-year-old to give an interview suggesting it was time for a new challenge.
Deeney believes Rashford has been below par throughout 2024.
"Who's been a flop for me… it sounds like I'm piling on and I don't mean to, but you probably have to say Marcus," Deeney told talkSPORT.
"Marcus has probably been the biggest disappointment this year. 'Flop' is a hard word but I mean disappointment in terms of expectation and what we think he can deliver."
Deeney took issue with Rashford's behavior when he didn't start against Arsenal, accusing him of sulking and not taking responsibility for his actions.

'He is right' - Man United's coach Amorim acknowledges Rashford’s call for a new challenge
Marcus Rashford's future has been up in flames as he admitted he needs a new challenge after Ruben Amorim dropped him for the Manchester derby.
"What I'm on about with 'baby' is the attitude, he didn't start against Arsenal, so he thinks he should start.
"So to prove to people that you should start, he's just going to walk around, how does that logic work? That's what a baby does, that's what my kids do when they don't get what they want, they sulk and scream and cry."
Rashford is widely expected to leave the club in the near future, and after being left out of the last two matchday squads by Ruben Amorim, the writing is on the wall.
