The game between the Flying Eagles and the Baby Scorpions is the second U-20 AFCON semifinal of the day after Senegal and Tunisia at the Suez Canal.

Flying Eagles target U-20 AFCON glory

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are aiming for a record eighth title.

Nigeria secured a place in the last four after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Uganda in the quarterfinal last week in Ismailia.

The win against the Hippos ensured the Flying Eagles sealed a ticket to the world cup and also a date with the Gambia in the semifinals.

The Gambia is standing between the Flying Eagles and a place in the final.

In an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria ahead of the crucial encounter, Bosso said having secured a place in Indonesia later this year, his Eagles are focused and now prepared to bring back the trophy for a record eighth time.

“The primary objective of coming here (U-20 AFCON) was to get the World Cup ticket and we've just done that,” Bosso told Pulse Sports.

Ladan Bosso says his team wants to bring back the title to Nigeria.

“We all want to go back to Nigeria with pride - (and that is) - to bring the trophy (back home) just as we did in Niger.”

“Of course, if we are able to go back with the trophy, I think that is an added advantage for the players, team and everyone is ready.”

Ladan Bosso's Flying Eagles are one game away from another final.

This is the first meeting between Nigeria and the Gambia in 16 years when Flying Eagles defeated the Young Scorpions in Brazzaville to qualify for the final.
