Foniso is a social networking and news application for sports fans.
Social media and online community meets sports as FONISO launches in Lagos, Nigeria with the aim of uniting the sporting ecosystem.
The FONISO team, led by founder and CEO, Dominic Essien introduced their exciting new venture to the world at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, July 23, outlining the functionality of the app and its projected impact on the global sporting community.
"We want to save the sporting community and give sports enthusiasts the opportunity to showcase their content while getting all the information and networking in one platform," said Essien while explaining the basic idea of FONISO.

How FONISO works
The FONISO app is designed to be the one-stop shop for all things sports-related as a home for everyone interested in sports from just the simple fan to the highest stakeholders.
Sports fans, former and current sports stars, scouts, administrators and everyone within the sports industry are targeted with this initiative that seeming has something for everyone as explained in detail by Dominic Essien.

"What we're trying to do here is to have Nigerian legends put out content about their past, their playing days, post advice for young people and upcoming stars and then we will amplify that and pay them for such content to make sure we have something monetized for them"
Essien expanded on the topic of monetization on FONISO, guaranteeing potential content creators that their efforts on the app would be handsomely rewarded.
He also expands on the impact he envisions for FONISO, "for athletes, the platform is open for people to showcase their skills and talents and as we see those talents we will continue to push them through relationships across different markets."
"We want to support sponsorship of some local gems but we need to first of all get into the market where these local talents are. We are creating a very organised sporting community where we can showcase talents regularly on our platform. We just want to see people use the platform to explore."
The FONISO app is now live and functional and available on Playstore and Appstore.
