Former AFC Leopards and Kakamega Homeboyz defender Robinson Kamura is set to begin a new chapter in Tanzania after agreeing to link up with Kenyan coach Francis Baraza
Former Kakamega Homeboyz and AFC Leopards defender Robinson Kamura has joined Tanzanian side Dodoma Jiji currently coached by former Kenya Police tactician Francis Baraza.
Kamura left Homeboyz in November and the end of his contract after failing to reach an agreement on a new one with the club.
He then started training with Dodoma Jiji in December after the recommendation of Baraza, who also joined the club the same month, before being handed a deal this month.
“Welcome Kamura @netsportstanzania #timuyetujijiletu,” Dodoma said while announcing Kamura’s signing.

FOOTBALL Kakamega Homeboyz boss responds to Robinson Kamura’s exit
Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has spoken about the contract situation of experienced defender Robinson Kamura whose deal has expired
Kamura joined Homeboyz on a one-year deal back in 2022 and was a key member of Patrick Odhiambo’s team as they won the FKF Cup which earned them a place in the CAF Confederations Cup.
However, efforts to agree fresh terms with the former AFC Leopards captain were unsuccessful, leading to his departure.
While confirming his departure, Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo said he would have loved to keep him if a new deal was agreed.
“There has not been an agreement regarding a new deal for him,” said Odhiambo. “I would like to keep him because he is a good player but there must be an agreement with the club.”
Kamura left Leopards in 2021 in acrimonious fashion after falling out of favour with former head coach Patrick Aussems who stripped him of the captaincy.
He would then join KCB for one season before he left for Homeboyz where he enjoyed a successful 2022-23 campaign.
