Former Police FC defender Hassan Muhamood has left Mbeya City for Geita Gold FC.

The defender famed for goalscoring and creative abilities penned a one-year contract following the expiry of contract with Mbeya City.

Muhamood had attracted interest from various regional clubs, including Ugandan clubs. Wakiso Giants and Express FC were reportedly in the race for his signature alongside Tanzania Premier League sides.

He decided to extend his stay in the Tanzania Premier League.

He joined Mbeya City in 2022 from Onduparaka FC following battles with a nagging knee injury. With the Tanzanian side, he netted three goals and registered four assists to his name.

He will hope for better opportunities at Geita Gold FC, which finished last season in seventh position with 37 points.

The versatile defender has previously featured for Express FC, SC Villa and Onduparaka FC.
