A former Tusker FC player has made a prediction on Gor Mahia's title chances with 10 matches remaining in the season.

Record Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Gor Mahia stand on the cusp of history with their eyes firmly set on clinching their unprecedented 21st league title.

As the 2023/24 season draws to a close, former Tusker FC defender James Situma has echoed the sentiment shared by many in the footballing fraternity that stopping Gor Mahia seems nearly an impossible task.

Situma, a seasoned campaigner in the Kenyan football scene, emphasized the daunting seven-point chasm that separates Gor from their closest contenders, Tusker and Bandari FC, on the league table.

With only 10 matches remaining in the season, Situma believes Gor Mahia's commanding lead leaves little room for doubt regarding their eventual triumph.

"Gor Mahia for a long time when they pulled a huge gap on top of the log, they have always gone all the way to win the league many times.

"As things stand now, I think when you figure out the seven-point gap that they have pulled means that the opponents have a mountain to climb," Situma asserted as per Citizen Digital.

Despite a recent setback, a 1-0 loss to third-placed Bandari on Saturday 9 March, Situma maintains that Gor Mahia remains resolute in their pursuit of glory.

"The top teams must collect maximum points and even register results against Gor should they want to stop their mission this season. We still have matches to play and it will now remain to see who will be consistent enough in the title race," Situma challenged.

Indeed, the dominance of Gor Mahia and Tusker in Kenyan football has been a prevailing narrative for close to two decades.

Now, as Gor inches closer to rewriting the record books, their rivals face an arduous task to derail their relentless march to glory.

As Gor Mahia prepares to resume action on Saturday 6 April against Kakamega Homeboyz at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, the anticipation surrounding their inevitable coronation looms large.

With the experience and pedigree of players like Situma, who has graced the pitches of various top clubs in Kenya, backing their cause, Gor Mahia finds themselves buoyed by both history and present form.
