The France Football Federation wants Nigerian striker George Ilenikhena to represent Les Bleus, according to reports.
The France Football Federation (FFF) has reportedly begun steps to naturalise 18-year-old Monaco striker George Illenikhena to facilitate a future Les Bleues call-up.
The young striker was born in Lagos, Nigeria, but moved with his family to France when he was just three years old.

He grew up in Antony, Hauts-de-Seine, France and began his footballing education at a local academy before joining Amiens.
He made his senior debut with the French side and after a season at Royal Antwerp, he made a return to France, signing for Monaco.

The young striker is steadily rising in profile, recently scoring in Monaco’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League.

George is a Nigerian citizen but he has yet to represent the national team at any age grade. France, on the other hand, are monitoring his development and have reportedly begun steps to get him French citizenship.
According to RMC Sport, as relayed by Oluwashina Okeleji, the FFF’s technical director, Hubert Fournier is on Illenikhena’s case and has begun steps to naturalise him to France as they desire for him to play and represent the two-time World Cup winners.
