PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has responded to claims that he is 'self-centered' in his first press conference as France captain.
Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe recently addressed claims that he is a selfish player.
The 24-year-old was this week named as the new captain of the France national team and spoke out for the first time following his new leadership role.
In his first press conference as Les Blues captain, Mbappe responded to claims that he is self centered, saying it is tough for people to relate, as they haven't lived this life.
“Self-centred ? I don’t understand it, but I accept; it’s the life of a high-level player. People judge without living it. My obsession is to win, and you don’t win alone. People don’t know the behaviour I have in the group.” Mbappe was quoted to have said, ahead of France's match against the Netherlands on Friday.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner also added that his success-oriented mindset makes people feel in such a way.
However, the PSG superstar acknowledged that it's tough to win without the support of the group.
Mbappe will lead France on Friday, March 24, when they host the Netherlands in their Euro 2024 Group B qualifier.
Kylian Mbappe Form & Goals 2023
The prolific Frenchman has been brilliant once more for Paris Saint Germain this season.
Mbappe is currently the leading goalscorer once again this season, having netted 19 times in the league so far this season.
The prolific 24-year-old has scored 31 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season.
However, despite suffering yet another disappointing exit from the Champions League, Mbappe has been charged by Christophe Galtier to try and finish the season strongly.
PSG look well on their way to win their 11th Ligue 1 title as they are currently leading the summit, 7 points off arch-rivals Marseille who sit in second place.
