Fraser-Pryce, a three-time Olympic champion and holder of 10 world titles, is considered by many to be the best female sprinter of all time, and holds a personal best time of 10.60 seconds in the 100m event.

Jamaican sprinting legend, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, has confirmed her participation in the 2023 Absa Kip Keino Classic on May 13th.

Fraser-Pryce, a three-time Olympic champion and holder of 10 world titles, is considered by many to be the best female sprinter of all time, and holds a personal best time of 10.60 seconds in the 100m event.

She will be looking to showcase her form once again at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, after starting her 2022 season with a season’s best time of 10.67 seconds at the same venue.

In a video message addressed to her Kenyan fans, Fraser-Pryce expressed her excitement to return to the stadium where she had so much fun and excitement last year.

She urged her fans to secure tickets to witness her compete at the Kip Keino Classic, promising to rock the stadium with fast times and great performances.

"Last year was awesome! Fantastic!” Pryce said in the video, adding; “Make sure you guys get your tickets because I want to see you in Nairobi on May 13.”

“And we’re going to have some fun, and of course we’re going to have some fast times and rock that stadium like we did last year!"

Meet Director of the Absa Kip Keino Classic, Barnabas Korir, expressed his delight at Fraser-Pryce's confirmation, noting that it shows the trust and love that global athletes have for Kenya.

He also promised to announce some of the top athletes who will be gracing the event in the coming weeks, adding that there are big surprises in store for the country.

The Absa Kip Keino Classic is the third round of the 2023 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series, and is named after pioneer Kenyan Olympic champion Kipchoge Keino.

The event will see athletes from across the world compete in various one-day track and field events.
