Ex-Chelsea star Eden Hazard was among the spectators for the Blues' opening day fixture against Liverpool
Chelsea icon Eden Hazard took some time out of his busy schedule to catch his old team play in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard’s Chelsea legacy
Hazard called Stamford Bridge home in an illustrious career with Chelsea which spanned seven years between 2012 and 2019 before he moved to find greener pastures in Real Madrid.
The Belgian forward was a force of nature in seven seasons at Chelsea, powering the club to two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup, and two UEFA Europa League titles with some otherworldly performances for the Blues.
Hazard was able to recall some of his glory days by visiting his old stomping grounds as Chelsea opened their 2023/24 season with a respectable performance in the draw against The Reds.
Hazard captured at Stamford Bridge
Hazard was spotted at the grounds by a fan, who posted a selfie with the former Premier League player of the Year.
The 31-year-old forward, who is still without a club after leaving Real Madrid by mutual consent in the summer of 2023, was spotted enjoying the match between the Premier League rivals as part of his extended holiday.
After leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid, a combination of injuries, weight gain, loss of form and extensive fighting for places meant that Hazard was never able to replicate his form for the Blues with Los Blancos, leading him to become an outcast in Spain.
The mercurial forward is still yet to receive advances worth his time however, and remains without a club, with the end of the transfer window fast approaching.
