URA FC has confirmed a fresh date for their postponed FUFA Super 8 semi-final against KCCA FC.
The Tax Collectors were initially scheduled to face the Kasasiro Boys on Sunday, August 20, but the game was called off following the untimely death of URA coach Sam Timbe.
URA will now travel to the MTN Omondi Stadium to visit their rivals on Friday, August 25, and the game will kick off at 5 pm.
The news was confirmed by URA FC through their social media, stating, “Back to business after a very difficult couple of days.”
“Now recharging for the FUFA Super 8 semifinal clash against KCCA FC this Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo at 5 pm.”
Timbe, aged 69, was laid to rest on Monday after he was declared dead on Saturday afternoon at St. Catherine Hospital along Lumumba Avenue, Kampala.
Timbe was pronounced dead as he was being rushed Nakasero Hospital for Intensive Care as referred by St. Catherine Hospital.
The former Sofapaka and Tusker FC coach was actively engaged in his coaching duties, overseeing the first team's training session the day before his demise.
URA returned to training only on Wednesday morning. Despite the somber backdrop, a few small jokes and laughs could be observed as the players immersed themselves in preparations.
Notably, this session was overseen by assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, as the club is expected to embark on the process of replacing Timbe.
To mark the gravity of recent events, a special occasion is planned before the game. Both clubs will come together in a heartfelt tribute to honor the memory of the late Sam Timbe.
In addition, KCCA will also commemorate the life of Robert Balaba, their grounds man who tragically passed away on Tuesday.
