From Lagos to Madrid: 2 Robo Queens players join Madrid women's team

The Super Stars have been called up to the Super Falcons recently and are now expected to continue their development at their new club in Madrid.

Esther Onyenezide and Opeyemi Ajakaye have joined Madrid CFF in Spain from the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Robo Queens.

The two stars helped the Lagos Landladies secure a place in the Super Six last season.

During the the FIFA U-20 World Women’s Cup held in Costa Rica, Esther announced herself with her impressive performance.

The Lagos product scored three goals in four matches but could not help Nigeria progress beyond the quarter-finals.

Since then, the attacking midfielder has received call-ups for the senior national team, the Super Falcons.

Ajakaye impressive Performance at WAFU B

Opeyemi Ajakaye won the highest goalscorer with six goals at the WAFU-B U-20 tournament in Ghana. She has been called up to the Super Falcons recently and are now expected to continue their development at their new club in Madrid.

Robo Queens Contribution to African women's football

The Lagos landladies has unparalleled contribution to African women's football. The club has produced superstars like Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade to Chidinma Okeke among others.

Robo Queens are currently placed fourth with 12 points in Group B in the NWFL.
