Paul Pogba will make a surprise return to football earlier than expected and he will be back to earning like a real baller

Paul Pogba has been living on a mere £1,700-per-month salary during his doping ban from Juventus.

This significant reduction comes after the French midfielder was handed a four-year suspension, which has now been cut to just 18 months following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The ban stemmed from Pogba's positive test for the banned substance DHEA, which is known to enhance testosterone levels. Initially, the ban posed a severe threat to his career, potentially leading to retirement.

However, with the appeal’s outcome, Pogba can resume training with Juventus in January 2025 and is eligible to return to competitive action by March 2025.

While facing the ban, Pogba's financial situation dramatically changed. Once one of football's top earners, he has been living on what can be described as a "minimum wage" compared to his previous salary.

The Daily Mail indicate that Pogba's pay was slashed to the equivalent of a modest salary, a far cry from his multi-million-pound contract with Juventus.

Upon the completion of his ban, Pogba is set to return to his £10.4 million-per-year contract approximately £200,000-per-week. This salary reflects the lucrative deal he signed with Juventus when he joined the club as a free agent.

The news of his return to such a high-profile salary is expected to provide a much-needed financial boost for the 31-year-old, who has faced a turbulent period in his career.

In response to the appeal ruling, Pogba expressed relief and gratitude, stating, "Finally the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again."

He reiterated his commitment to integrity, asserting that he never knowingly violated World Anti-Doping Agency regulations.

The club will need to decide whether to retain the World Cup winner as he returns to the pitch and resumes his place among Serie A's top earners.
