The Red Devils’ captain spoke passionately after a creditable draw at Anfield.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has called for greater consistency from his team following their 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

The Red Devils took the lead early in the second half through Lisandro Martinez, but the Reds responded with goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

Amad Diallo then equalised for United in the 80th minute, setting up a tense finale where both teams had opportunities to snatch victory in the closing stages, but ultimately the points were shared.

Despite securing a hard-fought point against their fierce rivals, Fernandes expressed his frustration that Manchester United cannot replicate such performances on a weekly basis.

"We've been fairly criticised because the position in the table says it all,” remarked the attacking midfielder. “We can't be happy with a draw because we need points more than they need points. I think it's a fair result, both teams played really good football.

“But we can't be satisfied. I'm really upset because if we can show this against Liverpool, why can't we do this every week?

"I'm frustrated because finally I put in a proper performance, but we need to do this every week. I wasn't worried about today, I'm more worried about Southampton.

“We know how tough it is to play against Liverpool. Today was about putting effort into the game, playing with passion. It can't stop here."
