The goalkeeper has revealed what he intends to do regarding his stay at K’Ogalo
Gor Mahia goalkeeper Gad Mathews has revealed that he is exploring the possibilities of leaving the club due to the uncertainty about his future.
Mathews shared the Golden Glove award with Nzoia Sugar’s Humphrey Katasi after keeping 17 clean sheets as K’Ogalo claimed the 2022-23 FKF Premier League title after edging Tusker FC by just one point, but he looks to be on his way out of the club.
Confirming that he is weighing his options, Mathews claims he has three months remaining on his contract which will expire in October, at a time when the new season would have started and transfer window closed, yet he has not been given assurances that he will get an extension.
“I still don’t know what will happen. The club says we will talk after three months. The new season starts in August yet they say we will talk. So, a lot can happen in between,” Mathews told Pulse Sports.
“When things are unclear like these, you have to look for alternatives. You cannot just stay there waiting. If a good offer comes, then I will leave."

It is not the first time he is having issues with the club as he also threatened to quit over delayed payment of his dues in 2021.
At the time, the player admitted to having received a number of offers in and out of the country which he was mulling over before deciding to stay but he now appears to have reached the end.
