Ahead of the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season, the FUFA Super 8 preseason tournament has made a return.
It will be the first time in about four years that the competition gets to be played, having gone into oblivion after the 2019 edition.
The developments were revealed by the country's football governing body, FUFA in an email sent to the eight clubs involved.
The competition in the past editions, involved six top teams from the previous campaign plus the top two from the FUFA Big League.
This time round however, it will only have the top eight Uganda Premier League sides from the previous season.
"The FUFA Super 8 is a preseason tournament played by the top eight teams in the concluded season," a letter sent to the eight teams reads.
"The cup has not been organized for the last two editions; however, this year's edition is scheduled from 4th-10th August, 2023."

Teams to participate include Vipers, KCCA, SC Villa, Arua Hill SC, URA FC, Maroons FC, BUL FC and Wakiso Giants FC.
