Arsenal's hopes of winning the Premier League title could hinge on Fulham beating Manchester City, but the Cottagers appear to support the Cityzens' stars instead

Hopes that Fulham will help London neighbours Arsenal against Manchester City when they meet in a potential Premier League title decider have been dashed by the Cottagers’ players appearing to be fans of their Manchester City counterparts.

Fulham host Manchester City in Gameweek 37 of 38 Premier League gameweeks, with the Cityzens chasing table-topping Arsenal, hoping to claim a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Arsenal currently lead Manchester City by a single point having played one more game than the Cityzens and are on the cusp of tasting Premier League glory for the first time in 20 years but will need Fulham to do them a favour.

Chances of Fulham helping the Gunners appear low after Cottagers players were seen voting overwhelmingly for Manchester City’s stars to win the Premier League Player of the Year award.

Fulham players vote Foden, De Bruyne for POTY

In a video on Fulham’s social media pages, the club’s players were asked who they thought would be named the Premier League Player of the Year among the eight nominated players and they overwhelmingly chose the Manchester City options.

Nine of the players asked voted for Phil Foden as their player of the year, while Chelsea’s Cole Palmer received the second most votes with only 3.5. No other player received more than one vote, confirming Palmer as the overwhelming favourite among the Fulham stars.

In total, Fulham players voted 10 times out of 17 for Manchester City players, with Kevin de Bruyne also receiving one vote, raising suspicion among Arsenal fans that their London neighbours were willing to roll over for the Cityzens when they meet in the crucial premier league fixture.
