SUPL Gaddafi preying on Jogoos for revenge

Gaddafi started the season sluggishly collecting only three points in their opening four fixtures. Three draws and a loss at the hands of SC Villa at Wankulukuku.

The team has grown into the league while improving as games passed. They currently sit 7th on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with 21 points.

That is just three behind Villa, who led the log at some point in the first round. They host the Jogoos on Saturday at Kakindu with revenge in mind.

"They beat us at their home in the first round when we were still setting up the team," Wasswa Bbosa, Gaddafi's head coach said in his pre-match interview.

"We had many injuries then but are now full board and prepared well because we want to reduce the gap. We shall fight for a win," he warned his opponent. Gaddafi has not lost any home game this season, winning five and only two draws.

Both sides posted differing results in the first round of the Stanbic Uganda Cup. Villa thumped Kireka 6-0 as their day's opponent fumbled to a 1-0 loss to Kiyinda Boys in Mityana. Bbosa is not bothered by that form arguing that cup games are different.

Villa upbeat

Villa's Jackson Magera comes into the game pumped up after that win in Kireka and an accolade for being the best coach of December.

During that month, his Jogoos pecked over Maroons, Blacks Power, and UPDF before settling for a draw against URA FC.

"We beat them in the reverse fixture but they have improved since then. You saw our performance in the Uganda Cup shows that we've also improved enough to push our targets in the second round," Magera told Pulse Sports.
