‘Let him stay where he is’ — Angry Napoli boss blasts Osimhen for rejecting Man United approach
According to reports, Osimhen’s rejection of Manchester United has been met with anger by the Napoli chief
The situation?
The Nigeria international signed for the Cim-Bom in a season-long loan deal that had a break clause included.
However, both parties are so happy with the union that Osimhen has rejected the chance to leave Galatasaray this January transfer window, and the Turkish champions are making an effort to sign the former Lille man permanently.
However, the cost required to accomplish that goal is quite sizable. The 26-year-old has a €75 million release clause, and the Partenopei have told Galatasaray they are uninterested in negotiating a lesser fee.
And as it stands, the Cim-Bom can't match that fee. To put it into perspective, their current record transfer fee is the €18 million paid to Norwich for Gabriel Sara last summer.
Galatasaray not giving up
Still, the Galatasaray hierarchy are pulling all the stops, exploring all avenues to keep the striker with 18 goal contributions in 15 games—and endeared himself to their fans—beyond this season.
According to Ntvspor, Turkish newspapers are reporting that Galatasaray are looking for sponsors to help fund the deal. Per the report, the Cim-Bom seek partners who will meet them halfway for the €75 million release clause and, in turn, will own some of Osimhen's rights.
