WPL runners-up hope to bridge the quality gap between them and champions Vihiga Queens.
Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League (FKFWPL) runners-up Gaspo Women have raised the bar in preparation for next season with two international friendly matches slated for the coming weeks.
Gaspo are determined to bridge the seven-point gap between them and winners Vihiga Queens and will kick-off preparations for the upcoming season with high-altitude training which will culminate with a local friendly match in Mt Kenya region at the end of June.

WPL Vihiga Queens claim fifth Women's Premier League title in style
The Vihiga-based outfit saw off title rivals Gaspo Women 2-1 in a dead rubber match played at Police Sacco Stadium.
“A combined group of women footballers from across the country (organized by Gaspo women FC) will be trying to break a record for being the first African (team) to ever play a football match at a record high altitude (4,200 meters above sea level) on July 5th to 8th, 2023,” the club announced
Gaspo will then intensify their pre-season training before traveling to Uganda for their first international fixture against Kawempe Ladies in Kampala. The Kenyan club will travel on 20th July and then play on 22nd July.

The Mountain Queens finished second in 2022/2023 Kenya Women’s Premier League season
The Kenyan ladies will return for another two-week training before slugging it out with high-flying Simba Queens on 8th August in Dar es Salaam.
Gaspo won fourteen of their 22 league matches and drew six. They only lost two league games in the entire campaign. Their impressive show was, however, not good enough as Vihiga Queens posted even more shining returns comprising eighteen victories and one draw.

"Plans are underway to play international friendly matches against the runner's up of the Tanzania Women Premier League and FUFA Women Super League (Uganda), Simba Queens FC and Kawempe Muslims Ladies FC respectively.," read a statement issued earlier
"The date for the two trips to Dar es Salaam and Kampala will be communicated. Fans and supporters will travel alongside the team for the two international matches." Gaspo said
