Barcelona once again have the most players in the top 10 Golden Boy Awards ranking with Gavi and Alejandro Balde
Barcelona youngsters Gavi and Alejandro Balde, as well as Real Madrid's new signing Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich’s starlet Jamal Musiala, headlined the list of the top 10 youngsters in the world according to French outlet TuttoSport, which is in charge of the Golden Boy award.
Gavi, Musiala headline Golden Boy rankings
The Golden Boy Award is awarded by TuttoSport to the most talented player under 21 in the world, as the outlet predicts which players in a certain age group will have the brightest futures.
Barcelona midfielder Gavi won the 2022 edition and has been nominated for the award again this year.
The midfielder was ranked in the top 10 of TuttoSports' latest list for the award and was in the top three, which also included Real Madrid’s Bellingham, who was second, and Bayern Munich’s Musiala, who was first.
Garnacho misses out on top 10 Golden Boy list
There were a number of other talented players on the list, including two other La Masia attendants, full-back Alejandro Balde and PSV Eindhoven midfielder Xavi Simmons.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Benfica defender Antonio Silva were also part of the top 10, but there was no room for Manchester United’s Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho is currently ranked way below the top 10 in 32nd, behind Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaire-Emery, Lyon’s Ryan Cherki, Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot, and Manchester City’s Rico Lewis.
The final results for the Golden Boy Award will be decided by a group of journalists who will decide the sensational youngster that will claim this year’s prize.
