The Black Stars attacker is back in England’s top flight after joining the Tricky Trees on a free transfer.
Ghana’s captain Andre Ayew is back in the Premier League after signing a deal with Nottingham Forest.
Ayew joins Forest on a free transer after his contract with Qatari club Al-Saad expired. The 33-year-old’s deal will keep him at the club until the end of the season.
Ayew ready to help Forest
Following his signature, Ayew expressed his confidence in what he can add to the team and he is ready to give his all.
The former Olympique Marseille man also spoke about his previous relationship with Steve Cooper and their special relationship.
“It’s a great feeling to sign for Nottingham Forest. I know how big the club is and I know how much the club means to the city and the fanbase. It’s always been difficult whenever I’ve played against Forest and at The City Ground and I love the stadium,” Ayew told Nottingham Forest’s website.
“Steve Cooper is someone who knows me very well and knows how to work with me both on and off the pitch. We have a strong relationship, he’s a special coach and a special human being and someone who I really look up to.”
“I know what I can bring to the team, I’m ready to give my all and make sure that we are able to stay in the Premier League.”
Ayew worked previously under Cooper during their time together at Swansea. The Ghana international scored 34 goals in 84 appearances under the Welshman.
Ayew's return to the Premier League
Ayew is Forest’s 31st signing this season, having made more than 20 in the summer. The move also marks a return to England for the Ghanian star.
Ayew had a spell in the Premier League with Swansea and West Ham respectively. The 33-year-old made 46 appearances in England’s top flight for the Swans, scoring 12 goals in the process.
He also scored nine goals in 43 appearances for The Hammers. Ayew also joins his brother, Jordan, in the Premier League.
The two could come face-to-face when Palace host Forest on the last day of the season. Aside from his previous spell in England, Ayew also played for Marseille, Lorient and Fenerbahce.
The Ghana captain could make his Forest debut when Cooper’s men take on Leeds United on Sunday.
