Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has advised Arsenal's transfer target to shun a move to the Emirates.

Joe Cole has advised Brighton's 20-year-old striker Evan Ferguson to reject transfer interest from Arsenal this month and prioritise a club where he can get consistent game time.

Brighton have valued Ferguson at £60m, and made him available on loan this month, with Arenal considering a move for the striker.

West Ham are another club linked with the striker, having appointed Graham Potter, who worked with him at Brighton two years ago.

Cole believes Ferguson needs regular playing time to develop, and West Ham would provide him with that opportunity.

Speaking on The Dressing Room, Cole said: "Listen, if I'm his agent I'm saying to him go to West Ham. You are not going to get into the Brighton team.

"You are going to take a step up and play, you need games, you are a young kid you need games, go and play for West Ham."

Cole also referenced West Ham's recent signing of Niklas Fullkrug, implying that Ferguson could displace him in the starting lineup

"It has not worked for Fullkrug yet, go there," Cole added.

Ferguson has scored just one goal in 14 appearances this season but there is huge potential there, as shown when he scored 10 goals in 2023 as an 18-year-old.
