Porto striker Samu Omorodion has opened up on his failed move to Chelsea, claiming God didn’t want it.
Chelsea were close to signing the Spanish striker during the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through.
The failed due to concerns over an ankle ailment, the 20-year-old was supposed to complete the £34 million transfer from Atletico Marid.
Omorodion signed to the Portuguese powerhouse Porto, where he has had an excellent start to life, netting seven goals in as many games, including two braces in a 3-3 draw with Manchester United.

Omorodion opens up
Omorodion, who was on the verge of signing with Chelsea during the summer, feels that outside factors prevented him from moving to Stamford Bridge.
Samu told Spanish outlet RTVE, “I had a very difficult summer. We had a really bad time because, in the end, everyone knows that I was close to signing, but it's true that if it didn't happen, it was for a reason, because God didn't want it.
“I'm also very grateful to Porto for giving me the opportunity when things looked at their worst, and I'm very happy with where I am now. I've left the past behind and now I'm focused on what's coming to me.”
Samu claimed that he was grateful to Porto for signing him and that Chelsea’s move failed because God did not want it.
