Victor Osimhen lashed out at Finidi George during his time as Super Eagles coach over the Napoli star's absence.

In a telling revelation, former Super Eagles manager Finidi George has stated that star striker Victor Osimhen has not apologised for his controversial Instagram outburst directed at the coach.

The incident occurred during Finidi's tenure when the Super Eagles faltered in their quest for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.

Following a draw against South Africa and a loss to the Benin Republic, Osimhen took to Instagram to launch a scathing 10-minute criticism of Finidi, accusing him of making the Napoli forward a "scapegoat" for the team's struggles.

Finidi has now provided an update on the situation, confirming that Osimhen has not reached out to apologize for the incident.

"I sent him a message that it was not the best way, just someone telling you that coach said that and you're talking about me like I said it in an interview,” Finidi said per Nigerian Info.

“From that point, I didn't hear from him, I moved on and I wish every day well. Only God will judge.”

Former Super Eagles boss Finidi George says Osimhen hasn't apologised.

When asked about the possibility of Osimhen facing a ban from the national team, Finidi responded, "I don't know, he is there already. Let him be."

This revelation highlights the lingering tensions between Osimhen and the former Super Eagles manager.

Finidi's refusal to retaliate and his stance of leaving the matter in God's hands suggest a mature approach, even as he acknowledges the inappropriate nature of Osimhen's public outburst.

The lack of an apology from Osimhen raises questions about the player's willingness to take responsibility for his actions and mend the relationship with his former national team coach.

This unresolved issue between Osimhen and Finidi George could affect the team's cohesion and morale as the Super Eagles continue their preparations for upcoming fixtures.

The ball is now in Osimhen's court to take the first step towards reconciliation and ensure there are no lingering distractions within the national team setup.
