Posta Rangers and Gor Mahia may have returned to winning ways but they will need to be mindful of the chasing pack while AFC Leopards and Shabana continue to grope in the dark
Gor Mahia and Posta Rangers will have to keep looking over their shoulders as KCB and Kakamega Homeboyz have kept the pressure on them in the FKF Premier League after 12 rounds of matches.
With both Gor Mahia and Posta Rangers returning to winning ways at the weekend, KCB and Homeboyz kept collecting maximum points to stay on their coattails in what is shaping into a tight battle.
Posta Rangers remain top with 25 points following Saturday’s 3-1 over Shabana FC while Gor Mahia are a point behind following Sunday’s 2-0 victory against Muhoroni Youth.

FOOTBALL Benson Omala back in the goals as Gor Mahia edge Muhoroni Youth to return to winning ways
Benson Omala scored early before Christopher Ochieng’s late goal helped Gor Mahia beat Muhoroni Youth in Homa Bay while Kenya Police also secured victory
It was a great outing for both teams who had drawn their previous matches and also witnessed a dry spell in front of goal.
Gor had scored just one goal in their previous four games with striker Benson Omala also experiencing a one-month drought which he ended by scoring the opening goal on Sunday.
However, KCB and Homeboyz have been on a roll of some sort, the bankers winning three of their last five games, while Abana Abeino have also claimed a hat-trick of victories over that period.
KCB showed great character to steal all points from Murang’a Seal on Sunday when the home side equalised in the 90th minute before Bernard Mwalala’s men scored the winner deep in stoppage time while Homeboyz edged Ulinzi Stars 1-0.
KCB are now third on the table with 22 points, just three adrift of Posta Rangers, while Homeboyz have 21, same as Murang’a Seal but on better form than the newly-promoted side who have dropped five points in their last two games.
Meanwhile, trouble still courts AFC Leopards, Shabana FC and Sofapaka who look like they will be fighting relegation for most parts of this season.

FKFPL Oscar Paul the hero as Kakamega Homeboyz dramatically disarm Ulinzi Stars
Oscar Paul's goal in the dying minutes of the match was enough to give Kakamega Homeboyz all the three points at Ulinzi Stars' expense.
Leopards were on course to securing their second win of the season after Brian Yakhama’s penalty saw them fend off Sofapaka for 90 minutes only for Humphrey Mieno to draw level with a bicycle kick to break Ingwe’s hearts.
Tomas Trucha has now overseen six matches, just like his predecessor Tom Juma, and his record reads one win, three draws and two defeats, collecting six points, just two more than the man he replaced.
That will leave Leopards fans questioning if coaching was really the problem as the struggles seem not to be ending. Trucha has bemoaned a lack of striker, urging the club to get one in the midseason transfer window, but he will have to do with what he has until at least January.

FOOTBALL AFC Leopards suffer last-minute heartbreak as Nairobi City Stars add to Kariobangi Sharks woes
AFC Leopards were on their way to their second win of the season before Sofapaka burst their bubble while Kariobangi Sharks suffered a 3-1 loss to Nairobi City Stars
Meanwhile, Shabana also continue to experience similar challenges. Interim coach Oscar Kambona took over from his boss Sammy Okoth and after starting with a win, he faced a reality check when Posta Rangers put them to the sword.
Leopards and Shabana are both on 10 points and it will not get any better for Tore Bobe who face KCB and Homeboyz in their next two matches.
