Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry has revealed the goalkeeper he plans to start for the away clash against Murang’a Seal with first choice Kevin Omondi suspended.
Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry intends to keep faith with young goalkeeper Caleb Omondi for his team’s trip to Murang’a Seal on Saturday.
K’Ogalo will play away at the St Sebastian Park as they look for maximum points to further boost their title aspirations but will be without first choice goalkeeper Kevin Omondi who is suspended after receiving a straight red card against AFC Leopards last month.
With Caleb Omondi impressing when he went in following Kevin Omondi’s 35th minute sending off, the Gor Mahia coach does not intend to change even with the return to training of experienced Gad Mathews, who was the club’s first choice last season.

Gor Mahia coach shares crucial update on goalkeeper Gad Mathews ahead of Murang'a Seal clash
Gor Mahia head coach Jonathan McKinstry has addressed concerns about goalkeeper Gad Mathews' commitment and recent absences from training sessions.
“This was Gad’s fifth training session after a month away,” McKinstry told LigiTalk. “You never lose that ability as a goalkeeper whereas match fitness and sharpness is off where it needs to be. If you have not been training for a month, your sharpness isn’t quite there for 95 minutes.
“Gad is competing for it, he is ready to be in the squad but you all saw, if we need to go with Caleb for the game, you saw in 65 minutes against AFC [Leopards] and also at the start of the year against Sofapaka and against Homeboyz in the charity shield.
“Everyone saw what Caleb is able to do. He has never let us down this season or last, so we are quite comfortable with the goalkeeping situation.”

Gor Mahia coach explains how he plans to counter Murang’a Seal’s threats
Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry has an elaborate plan to stop Muranga Seal from frustrating his team as witnessed in November.
The 20-year-old Caleb Omondi was one of the standout performers in the Mashemeji derby against AFC Leopards as 10-man Gor Mahia claimed a 1-0 victory.
He was good in the air, commanded his rea well, punched every long ball that came his way while bringing calmness in what was a chaotic game, something that will be expected of him again on enemy territory on Saturday.
