Gor Mahia huffed and puffed but could not find a way to break down Bidco’s mean defence but their coach expressed his satisfaction with the outcome
Gor Mahia head coach Johnathan McKinstry believes his side’s 0-0 draw against Bidco was a fair result, describing the Thika-based outfit as difficult to “roll over”.
K’Ogalo huffed and puffed but could not find a way to break down Bidco’s mean defence, as they were frustrated to the result in a match played at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.
McKinstry had made the unusual decision to rotate some of his key players, seemingly with the Wednesday game against Shabana in mind, and it was not surprising to see that some of the players who came into the game lacked rhythm even if they did play well.

FKFPL Gor Mahia drop points after spirited Bidco United hold firm for stalemate
A rotated Gor Mahia squad just did not have enough to overcome Bidco United in an encounter that saw both teams evenly test each other out.
The side was also affected by injuries to some key players who limped off during the match, including both Patrick Sibomana and Rodgers Mugisha, which will add onto the fears of K'Ogalo fans.
Speaking after the match, McKinstry hailed Bidco’s tight defence, giving them full credit and opting to take the point considering the circumstances.
“We knew coming into the game that Bidco were not a rollover by any means, they’ve only lost one game this season and that continues,” McKinstry said.
“They’ve had a tight defence recently and we also played them in pre-season and that was also tight as well, extremely sort of a 1-1 half.
“We knew it was going to be tight today. Full credit to them. They covered it well, played on the counter-attack well. Taking a point in a game like this is okay.
“We obviously come in looking for all three points all the time but I have said this before many times that some days when you wake up in the morning, it doesn’t quite click. On those days, you still try and do some of the simple things and we had a few chances.
“But the biggest problem is that, when you are not at full capacity, make sure you do not lose the game.”
The draw sees Gor Mahia remain second on the table on 16 points after eight matches, three behind Posta Rangers, who returned to winning ways with a splendid 2-0 win against Bandari at the nearby Annex.
K’Ogalo will be playing Shabana at the same venue on Wednesday in what is sure to be a high-stakes fixture.
