Gor Mahia defender Levin Odhiambo made his debut in the CECAFA Cup impacting the game despite the team's mixed results.

Gor Mahia defender Levin Odhiambo has expressed mixed feelings following his long-awaited debut in the 2024 CECAFA Cup match against Djibouti Telecom on Saturday.

The left-back, who has been sidelined due to registration complications after joining from Tusker, finally took the field and made an immediate impact by scoring, although the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Odhiambo, versatile enough to play as a winger, had been eager to start his journey with the record FKF Premier League champions since his contract with Tusker ended.

"Gutted not to pick up full points but excited to make my debut with K'Ogalo and marking it with a goal. Thank you all for the support. We turn our focus towards our next fixture," Odhiambo wrote on social media after the match.

Odhiambo made his presence felt in the game in the 39th minute when capitalized on a well-placed inswinging corner from Chris Akena.

However, a defensive lapse in K'Ogalo defense allowed Djibouti Telecom to equalize just two minutes later through Warsama Houssein.

The draw leaves Gor Mahia in a precarious position in Group B, needing a near miracle to advance past the group stage after losing their opener to Red Arrows from Zambia.

The Kamukunji High School alumnus's debut had been delayed by registration issues stemming from his free transfer and the timing of his signing after the mid-season transfer deadline.
