The newly-crowned champions have now been awarded Ksh9m since winning a record-extending 20th league title on Sunday.
The cash rewards keep flowing in for Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Gor Mahia after ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo rewarded them with Ksh3 million for winning the league title.
Owalo hosted the team for lunch on Monday after which he awarded them his token while also promising to buy the club a new bus.

FKFPL: “I can now retire in peace!” Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier elated to win historic 20th league title
Under Rachier, Gor Mahia have won eight FKF Premier League titles.
“I have this afternoon hosted the victorious Gor Mahia FC for lunch, a day after they lifted the coveted FKF Premier League trophy,” Owalo said in a Facebook post. “I congratulated the team for winning the league and gave them a cash reward of Ksh3 million.”
Owalo has been one of Gor Mahia’s biggest supporters in recent months and his show of gratulate has seen a number of fans flood with requests over the kind of bus they want him to acquire for the team.

Businessman Jared Otieno has also promised to award Gor Ksh1 million, bringing the total to Ksh9 million so far, after the club’s sponsor SportPesa committed a cash bonus of Ksh3.5 million while their patron former Prime Minister Raila Odinga chipped in with Ksh1.5 million after their title triumph on Sunday.
Gor claimed the title by just one point over second-placed Tusker after coming from behind to beat Nairobi City Stars 4-1 at Kasarani Stadium and with their win earning them a chance to play in the CAF Champions League next season, coach Jonathan McKinstry is already planning ahead.

The Northern Irishman feels he still has more to accomplish with the 20-time Kenyan champions
“A huge congratulations to all the people who don’t get seen, the backroom staff, the kit man, the security, medical staff because these are the guys who we start training at 8am but they are up by 4am making sure kits, goals and balls are ready and often that work goes unseen,” McKinstry said at the event.
“I said to the guys six weeks ago that it’s for those people that we needed to work hard because without them, we can’t achieve anything. So, thank you for everyone who have made this possible this season but I have already said this season is over.
