The record FKF Premier League champions are nearing signing a promising Rwandan league striker to enhance their squad amid other key players' potential departures.

Gor Mahia could be the next home for Gedeon Bendeka as the record Kenyan champions have reportedly secured a pre-contract agreement with the Congolese striker.

K'Ogalo have moved swiftly to stave off interest from multiple clubs keen on snagging the prolific goal scorer.

Bendeka, currently plying his trade with Rwanda’s Etincelles FC, has been in remarkable form, netting 13 goals in 22 appearances last season.

The 22-year-old, who was just two goals shy of being the league's top scorer last season, has signed a two-year deal with Gor Mahia.

This development surfaces as Gor Mahia prepares for potential departures within their ranks.

The club was reportedly considering Ugandan international Muhammad Shaban as a potential replacement should their star player Benson Omala leave during the upcoming June transfer window.

Omala had been close to a loan move to Algerian club JS Saoura, but negotiations collapsed due to stringent demands from Gor Mahia's administration, which reportedly included a transfer fee initially set at $40,000, later adjusted to $30,000.

Additionally, Gor Mahia’s foreign player roster is expected to experience changes with Patrick Kaddu and Emery Bayisenge, both of whom are nearing the end of their 18-month contracts signed during the mid-season window of 2022/23.

Their potential exits coincide with the departure of head coach Johnathan Mckinstry pointing to a season of significant transition for the club.

The DR Congo international expected arrival is seen not only as a direct reinforcement in attacking positions but also as a strategic move to keep the team competitive on both local and continental fronts.
