The Englishman has disclosed a misjudgement that possibly cost him his position at Stamford Bridge.
Former Chelsea head coach Graham Potter recently opened up about his brief and tumultuous tenure at Stamford Bridge, acknowledging a key misjudgment that contributed to his struggles.
Potter, who arrived from Brighton in September 2022 with high expectations, lasted just 31 games before being dismissed.
While the Englishman acknowledged the challenges posed by the influx of new players during the January transfer window, he also admitted to a deeper misunderstanding of the club's culture.

What Potter said about Chelsea culture
In a candid interview with Sky Sports, the former Brighton boss revealed that he had anticipated a significant cultural shift at Chelsea following the change in ownership.
However, he soon realised that the club's deeply ingrained winning mentality and high expectations remained firmly in place.
"Perhaps the mistake I made was that I thought with new ownership there would be a change of culture," Potter confessed. "But culture runs a lot deeper than that."

He highlighted the intense pressure that quickly mounted after a few losses, despite a relatively decent start to his tenure.
"Before the World Cup, we'd only lost three matches in the Premier League... but the world was closing in and we were close to crisis," he explained.
Potter recognised that the history of success at Stamford Bridge created a demanding environment where anything short of consistent victories was met with scrutiny.
