The recognition comes as Greenwood rebuilt his career following a two-year absence from professional football due to domestic violence allegations.

His impressive displays in LaLiga have not gone unnoticed, with the young striker picking up monthly awards in December and April before clinching the top individual honour at the Getafe.

It remains to be seen whether Greenwood's form in Spain will pave the way for a return to Old Trafford or lead to a permanent move away from Manchester United.

But whether he returns to the Premier League or not, the forward will be delighted to have been named Getafe's Player of the Season.
