Mason Greenwood was on target as Getafe played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo in LaLiga.
Celta Vigo could not take advantage of their numerical advantage as the home side settled for a 2-2 draw with Getafe at home.
How it happened
Getafe couldn’t have wished for a better start, as the visitors broke the deadlock inside two minutes. Borja Mayoral seized on a wonderful lobbed pass from Diego Rico to ghost into the box, round Celta goalkeeper Iván Villar and slot into an empty net.
Celta fought back and missed a huge chance to level proceedings when Iago Aspas’ penalty struck the post.
However, within minutes of missing the penalty, Rafa Benitez’s men found the equaliser through Jonathan Bamba.
Greenwood debut goal
Getafe restored their lead thanks to new boy Mason Greenwood. Borja Mayoral did good work before squaring to Greenwood at the back post, and the striker fired home his first goal in Spanish football.
José Bordalás’ men couldn’t hold that lead into the interval though, as Larsen grabbed his side’s second equaliser with a poacher’s finish after David Soria denied Iago Aspas.
