The English champions recorded a win after a winless streak with six defeats.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed relief after his side ended a seven-game winless streak with a convincing 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Guardiola claimed the win was important for City, struggling with injuries and inconsistent form.

"We needed it. The club, the players needed to win but it is just one game. The problems continue with Manu and Nathan," Guardiola said via the club's website after the game.

The injuries to Manuel Akanji and Nathan Aké are a setback for City, who are already dealing with the absence of key players like Rodri.

However, Kevin De Bruyne's return to the starting lineup provided a much-needed boost.

"He fought a lot. With respect to his physicality and minutes against Feyenoord were not good, and that's why I decided not to play at Anfield (against Liverpool) for the rhythm they play. But the minutes he played at Anfield were really good, and today he played 75 fantastic minutes," Guardiola said.

The next test for City will be against Crystal Palace on Saturday, where they will hope to build on their recent victory and continue their climb up the Premier League table.
