I did not expect it — Guardiola reacts after comfortable win over Chelsea
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has expressed surprise at the club's 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking after the match, Haaland recalled the Spaniard singing about him weeks ago.
Cucurella's song
Cucurella was an integral member of Spain's team that won the European Championships. Following their triumph, the players made merry.
In one such celebration, Cucurella sang the following: "Cucu cucu-rella, he eats paella; Cucu cucu-rella he drinks Estrella, Haaland you’d better tremble because Cucurella is coming!”
Haaland evidently caught wind of this video and after scoring against Cucurella's team, he ensured to take a swipe at him.
What Haaland said
In the post-match press conference, Haaland suggested Cucurella was a fan of his, as he has previously asked him for a jersey swap.
"He is a funny man. Last season, he asked for my shirt. And this summer he sings a song about me."
Meanwhile, Manchester City Pep Guardiola boss showered his Norwegian striker Erling Haaland with high praise after the victory against Chelsea, as he placed the 24-year-old on the same cadre as the greats of the past two decades: Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
