Erling Haaland returned from injury to inspire Pep Guardiola and Manchester City back to winning ways in the Premier League against Tottenham.

Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland made a triumphant return to Manchester City's lineup, scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Haaland's strike in the 12th minute proved to be the difference, as he converted a pass from Jeremy Doku, which took a slight deflection off the Spurs' defence, to slot the ball past Guglielmo Vicario into the bottom corner.

Despite dominating the first half, City missed additional scoring opportunities, with Haaland and Savinho failing to capitalise on their chances.

However, Haaland's early goal set the tone for the match, and City held on despite a spirited second-half performance from Tottenham.

In the dying moments of the game, Haaland thought he had secured a brace when he found himself one-on-one with Vicario following a messy clearance from the Spurs backline.

He dinked the ball into the side-netting, but the goal was disallowed by VAR due to a handball by Haaland.

Spurs nearly snatched a share of the spoils.

The drama didn't end there, as Tottenham nearly snatched a late equaliser. Pape Sarr had a clear chance to level the score but headed over Pedro Porro's cross, ensuring City's narrow victory.

Haaland's return from injury was a significant boost for City, who moved back into the top four of the Premier League table.
