Starlets are determined to qualify for the upcoming competition after missing out on the 2022 edition due to a FIFA ban imposed on Kenya over a year ago.

Excitement is building as Kenya's national women's football team, Harambee Starlets, eagerly awaits the draw for the 2024 Africa Women's Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.

The draw, set to take place on July 6, 2023, at 8 pm EAT, will determine their opponents on the road to securing a spot in the prestigious continental tournament.

Harambee Starlets made their impressive debut in the prestigious tournament during the 2016 edition, securing their place by eliminating Algeria.

Now, with their sights set on qualification for the upcoming competition, the team is determined to make their mark on the African stage once again.

"This tournament holds additional significance for Harambee Starlets as it marks their return to international football following a FIFA ban that was imposed on Kenya over a year ago," said the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Prior to the suspension, Harambee Starlets displayed an impressive performance during the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Starlets showcased their dominance by recording a 15-1 aggregate victory over South Sudan in October 2021, paving their way to the second and final round of qualifiers against Uganda's Crested Cranes.

Unfortunately, due to the suspension, the team did not have the opportunity to face Uganda, ultimately resulting in their exclusion from the 2022 WAFCON.

However, with the ban lifted by FIFA in November 2022, Harambee Starlets are eager to make a triumphant return to the international stage.

Starelts head coach Godfrey Oduor and his charges have been eagerly preparing for this crucial moment, eagerly awaiting the draw to determine their opponents and the path they must navigate to secure their place in the 2024 WAFCON.

Since the lifting of the FIFA suspension, Harambee Starlets have not been in action due to unforeseen circumstances.

A scheduled international friendly against Albania in April had to be canceled due to logistical reasons.

The 2024 Total Energies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is set to be hosted in the vibrant city of Rabat, Morocco.

This prestigious tournament brings together the finest women's football teams from across the continent, providing a platform for African talent to shine on the global stage.
